The Foresight interest group provides information and discussion about issues that affect people who are losing their sight or are blind caused by hereditary eye disease (such as Retinitis Pigmentosa, Stargardts, Ushers Syndrome, Leber Congenital Amaurosis and Macular Degeneration) and other causes.
Anyone who is interested can join our friendly and confidential group. You are also most welcome to bring along a member of your family or a friend.
We meet regularly, in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, and have had speakers on low-vision aids, nutrition and diet and mobility as well as discussion about topics that affect our lives. The meeting is held in English and Arabic (there is a translator present).
If you or someone in your family has been diagnosed with RP or a degenerative eye disease and would like more information in English or Arabic please contact Foresight. It can help to talk to someone who has faced a similar experience and receive advice on available support and developments.
